Important Notices for the Medicare Open Enrollment Period
As the end of the year is approaching, it will be the busiest season for all health insurance companies and insurance brokers. Open enrollment of the red and blue Medicare cards begins from October 15th to December 7th of each year. Everyone will be applying for health insurance or making an adjustment for the 2023 plan year. Here are some few things that you may wish to note when making an update or adjustment to your current plan:
1. Consult with a professional health insurance broker
It is advisory for those age 65 and up, who hold the red and blue Medicare cards, to consult with a service professional or health insurance broker for any adjustments or revaluation of more suitable plans for the year 2023. Please take caution when someone tells you that a certain insurance company may be better, as everyone’s individual health condition is very different. The benefits and advantages covered should be based on the actual conditions of the individual. Especially in the event a modification is made to the prescription drug document from the previous year. It is important to seek a professional health insurance broker to help you perform a re-evaluation, as it may directly affect your overall deductible. Please remember that every insurance company offers different types of prescription drugs. However, the prescribed drug would of course more or less relate to the name and dosage of the drug originally used by the individual.
2. Check whether the information on the ID card is correct.
After the opening period has ended, please verify all information listed on the ID card. If the name, date of birth, doctor or Medicare plan is incorrect, it will affect the timing of your doctor’s visit.
3. If adjustments have been made, please reconfirm the information provided with your medical card.
Please note where automatic deductions might be made.
