在連續五週下跌後，抵押貸款利率上週飆升，引發抵押貸款需求下降。
根據抵押貸款銀行家協會的季節性調整指數，上週抵押貸款申請總量與前一周相比下降了 7.7%。
具有合格貸款餘額（726,200 美元或以下）的 30 年期固定利率抵押貸款的平均合同利率從 6.18% 上升至 6.39%，對於首付 20% 的貸款，點數從 0.64（包括發起費）上升至 0.70支付。一年前的利率是 4.05%。
MBA 副總裁兼副首席經濟學家 Joel Kan 表示：“上週抵押貸款利率全面上升，原因是市場預期通脹將持續，因此要求聯準會在更長時間內保持貨幣政策緊縮。”
本週房屋貸款再融資申請下降了 13%，比一年前的同一周下降了 76%。根據 Black Knight 的數據，按照目前的速度，與一周前相比，可以從再融資中受益的借款人減少了 10 萬。一年前，抵押貸款利率為 4.05%，只有不到 400 萬的再融資候選人。
本週購房抵押貸款申請下降 6%，比去年同期下降 43%。全國各地的房地產經紀人報告稱，過去幾週買家需求激增，這或許表明歷史上繁忙的春季市場提早開始。
